Agenda Special: The inflation challenge is not a debate – we choose to question the eight parliamentary parties about their proposals on how high inflation and its effects should be tackled. In the first half of the programme, the focus is on household finances, in the second half on society – welfare in municipalities and regions, and the business sector.

Researchers invited

To increase knowledge about how inflation affects households and society, a number of researchers and experts participate in the program.

The Agenda editorial team has talked to a number of researchers and experts about how inflation affects different parts of society. Since then, the editorial team has invited some of those who are considered to have great knowledge in their respective areas.

In the programme, we ask researchers to answer questions about the effects of price increases and how inflation can best be combated. How severe is inflation? Which groups are most affected? Which measures are most effective in helping households? What risks fuelling inflation?

In addition, we discuss how inflation affects welfare and businesses. Can municipalities and regions cope with the rising costs? Is there a risk of cuts? What happens if inflation remains high? How are Swedish companies and the labour market affected?

More about the researchers and experts participating in the programme.

Politicians are questioned

The economic policy spokespersons from all eight parliamentary parties will also participate in the programme. In other words, they will not debate with each other, but will be questioned about their parties' proposals in the various areas.

In order to deepen the understanding in each part, not all parties participate at the same time, but four parties at a time. In each round, the parties are combined to provide a breadth of perspectives and proposals on each issue.

Agenda special: The Inflation Challenge is broadcast at 21:15 on SVT2 and on SVT Play.
