"You are the descendants and heirs of the generation of victors who crushed Nazism, today you are honestly and worthily fulfilling your duty, solving the most important, complex tasks to protect the state border," Putin said.
He added that the service for the protection of the country's borders has always been responsible and honorable.
The Russian leader especially noted all the border guards participating in the special military operation today.
Earlier, Putin congratulated Russian polar explorers on their professional holiday.
It was also reported that the FSB border service in 2022 identified 1.5 thousand persons associated with extremism and terrorism.
