The Norwegian non-profit organization NUBAS, "Norsk ukrainian brann- og ambulansestøtte", has delivered 97 different types of rescue vehicles to Ukraine.

But this one on May 22, chairman Odd Steinar Rønne received a call from the fire brigade in Dnipro.

The fire station had been bombed and the Norwegian gifts have been completely destroyed.

"We can't understand why this happened. There is nothing here that concerns the Ukrainian military," said Oleh Kushniruk, area fire chief in Dnipro, standing in front of what was once his fire station.

Aware of the risk

But the testimonies from Dnipro have now made Rønne and his team more motivated than ever.

The organization is in daily contact with fire departments around Ukraine and the next delivery of donated rescue vehicles is expected to roll down as early as June.
