Martin Huber: "Hubertus Heil urgently needs to provide clarification"

After the debate about conflicts of interest in the Ministry of Economics of Robert Habeck (Greens), there is also a witness case in the labor department of SPD minister Hubertus Heil: As SPIEGEL reported, Heil has already brought in his best man Carsten Stender as head of the Europe and International Affairs Department in 2018.
When asked, Heil's Ministry of Labor emphasized that, in addition to Stender's legal training, his "extensive expertise in the international field" had been decisive for the appointment. The fact that he was also Salvation's best man about 20 years ago was an "expression of private friendship". There is "no conflict of interest in any respect".
The CSU sees it differently. "Hubertus Heil urgently needs to provide clarification," said Secretary General Martin Huber of the "Bild" newspaper. Unfortunately, Robert Habeck and Hubertus Heil are ensuring that the traffic light is slowly coming under general suspicion," Huber added. This is "unworthy of a federal government".
"At the traffic light, the motto is obviously 'Family and Friends'," said CSU politician Florian Hahn (CSU). It is "breathtaking at what speed the federal government is gambling away any reputation, not only because of its bad policies, but also because of its felt."
