- Meteorology Madrid warns of heavy rains during the next 24 hours by the DANA and activates the flood plan
The intense rain that fell this afternoon has caused flooding in Alcobendas, San Sebastián de los Reyes, several municipalities of the Corredor del Henares and the Madrid district of Barajas. Between 17.30 and 20.00 hours, the 112 has managed 72 files for rain. The firefighters of the Community of Madrid have carried out 45 interventions by rafts on public roads and fallen branches, none seriously. In Coslada one of the tunnels of the municipality near the Cercanías station has been flooded.
For this Thursday and Friday there is a yellow warning in the region for heavy rains and up to 40 liters per square meter are expected in several areas of the West and Las Vegas.
The forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) in the Community of Madrid for this Friday indicates that there will be widespread rains or showers, accompanied by persistent storms, and that the maximum temperatures will decrease, which will be noticeable in the western end.
The sky will be cloudy or covered, predominating at the end the high clouds in the south, and the precipitations will be persistent in the Sierra, locally strong at dawn.
There will be light easterly and southeasterly winds, with more intense intervals in the morning, and minimum temperatures will remain virtually unchanged.
