Da Nang, 5 May (Zhongxin Net) -- The Chinese Navy's Qi Jiguang, which is carrying out an internship visit mission in the far seas, arrived at Da Nang, Vietnam, the first stop of this voyage visit, on 23 May to begin a two-day goodwill visit to Vietnam. This was the first visit to Vietnam by the ship Qi Jiguang since it was enlisted.

On May 5, the Chinese Navy's new ocean-going comprehensive training ship, Qi Jiguang, carrying 15 naval cadets, officers and men, set sail from a military port in Dalian, Liaoning Province, to carry out a long-sea and long-range internship mission and visit four countries, including Vietnam, Thailand, Brunei and the Philippines.

At about 8 a.m. local time, the Qi Jiguang ship flying the national flags of China and Vietnam slowly approached Pier 2A of Xiansha Port in Da Nang. Chinese Minister Xi Hui in Vietnam, Consul General in Da Nang Dong Biyou, representatives of Chinese-funded institutions and overseas Chinese, Nguyen Cui Anh, deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Department of Da Nang City, the Third Region of the Vietnamese Navy, the Da Nang Border Defense Force Headquarters, the Da Nang Military Command and other relevant personnel and representatives of naval officers and men jointly greeted them at the pier. Vietnamese staff presented wreaths to the Chinese mission commanders and exchanged greetings.

During his visit to Vietnam, the Chinese mission commander will call on relevant leaders of Da Nang City. The officers and men of the Chinese Navy's Qi Jiguang visiting ship and the trainees accompanying the ship will visit the headquarters of the third region of the Vietnamese Navy to conduct professional exchanges and sports friendship competitions with Vietnamese naval officers and men. The Qi Jiguang will also hold a deck reception open to the Vietnamese military, local citizens, overseas Chinese, and personnel of Chinese-funded institutions.

Located at the southeastern tip of Da Nang Bay on the central east coast of Vietnam, Da Nang is one of the five municipalities directly under the Central Government of Vietnam. Da Nang Bay is horseshoe shaped, the tidal difference in the bay is small, the tide is weak, there are natural barriers in the north and south of the bay mouth, the situation is dangerous, and the shelter conditions are good.
