It was in August last year in central Eskilstuna that the arms store took place and the police were able to arrest five people. On the same day, another person was arrested for trying to hide weapons and accessories in a ditch. Several firearms, as well as ammunition and silencers, were seized during and after the interventions.

"It is very gratifying that we have managed to acquire a relatively large number of weapons that we believe were intended to be used in the criminal environment in Eskilstuna and Örebro, which have recently been severely affected by gun violence," prosecutor Nicklas Hjertonsson has previously said.

During the investigation, more people became suspects and in January seven men, aged between 15 and 50, could be charged with extremely serious weapons offences and aggravated weapons offences.

Those sentenced come from Eskilstuna, Örebro and Stockholm. Among them is the principal, a 19-year-old arms dealer, who supplied the underworld with firearms. He was assisted by his father, among others.

All of the men charged have denied any wrongdoing.
