Chongqing, May 5 (Liang Qinqing) The reporter learned from the 22 "International Day for Biological Diversity" science popularization activity held in Chongqing on the 22nd that Chongqing has achieved remarkable results in biodiversity conservation in recent years, and has discovered one new global species, Yunyang palm toad, and four new recorded species in Chongqing, including Luolong butterfly (Qianjiang), round-winged stag beetle (Qianjiang), Qingli chai (Qianjiang), and hairy fruit semi-lettuce moss (Xiushan).

At present, Chongqing Municipality has launched the construction of biodiversity observation network, and established five comprehensive observation stations in northeast Yubei (Yintiaoling), southeast Yu (Wulingshan), central urban area (Guangyang Island), Three Gorges reservoir area (Fuling), and Jinfoshan (Nanchuan), to investigate typical ecosystem types, terrestrial vascular plant diversity, bird and mammal vertebrate diversity, and insect diversity in typical areas, and initially build a comprehensive ecosystem covering typical ecosystems, nature reserves, and insect diversity in typical areas of Chongqing.
