Winning ticket for Airbnb: more than a year before the first events of the 2024 Olympic Games, tens of thousands of overnight stays have already been selected on the Ile-de-France territory through the accommodation booking platform.

These booking records are not about to stop, since since the opening of the second phase of ticket sales, the platform has recorded nine times more searches compared to previous weeks.

In the list of the most sought-after cities: Paris and Marseille, where aquatic events will take place, but also cities at the gates of the capital. Notably Clichy, Boulogne, Saint-Denis, and Versailles which will host several events around equestrian sports, as well as the marathon.

According to the booking site, 60% of those who have already booked their stay come from European countries, 20% come from the United States. Asian tourists are also expected to gradually return to the platform.

In total, according to a study recently published by Deloitte, more than half a million visitors could stay in accommodation booked on Airbnb during the gaming period. Enough to put butter in the spinach of Ile-de-France guests who could touch on average nearly 2,000 euros gross for the stay.
