Zhou Junying, a Hong Kong youth studying at Jinan University, recently participated in the selection of the 2023 Guangzhou Nansha Division (Innovation and Entrepreneurship Award, Academic Achievement Award) for Hong Kong Students in the Greater Bay Area - "Bay Area Hong Kong Students Bravely Chase Their Dreams, Flowers of Youth Bloom", said that she was very happy to participate in this competition, which allowed her to meet many Hong Kong friends studying in the mainland.

Dozens of Hong Kong youths gathered in Nansha, Guangzhou on the 21st and launched a wonderful "competition". They presented their innovation and entrepreneurship projects or academic achievements to the judges respectively to compete for the 2023 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Award and the Academic Achievement Award for the top ten outstanding Hong Kong students in the Greater Bay Area.

It is reported that the selection activity is jointly organized by the "One Country, Two Systems" Youth Forum, the Mainland Hong Kong and Macao Young Students Home, Guangzhou Nansha Overseas Friendship Association, and Guangzhou Nansha District Hong Kong and Macao Youth Five Music Service Center, since its launch in March 2023, a total of 3 universities in the Greater Bay Area have received applications from Hong Kong students from 14 universities in the Mainland cities in the Greater Bay Area, and 30 students were finally selected for on-site evaluation after interviews.

The competition was conducted online and offline, and the candidates gave full play to their respective advantages to tell the growth story of the Greater Bay Area and the prospects of participating in the construction of the Greater Bay Area with the theme of "Hong Kong Students in the Greater Bay Area Pursue Their Dreams and Bloom the Flower of Youth", showing the highlights of Hong Kong students in the Greater Bay Area.

"I've been with the South China University of Technology Formula Team for a few years and have been working on improving fuel racing horsepower and power response, as well as some research in the field of unmanned racing." Ye Kefeng of Hong Kong, who studied at South China University of Technology, said that he won the "Second Prize of the Academic Achievement Award" in this selection, and met many new friends and broadened his horizons.

The relevant person in charge of the Guangdong Overseas Friendship Association said that the selection provided a stage for university students from Hong Kong to show themselves, allowing the Mainland cities in the Greater Bay Area to better understand Hong Kong students.

Ruan Xiaohong, member of the Standing Committee of the Nansha District Party Committee and president of Guangzhou Nansha Overseas Friendship Association, said that the selection helped Hong Kong youth integrate into the Bay Area and Nansha through the method of "promoting integration through competition", so that more young friends can understand Nansha.

After a single award roadshow competition, 2023 winners of the 8 Guangzhou Nansha District Innovation and Entrepreneurship Award and Academic Achievement Award were selected by the top ten outstanding Hong Kong students in the Greater Bay Area. Among them, Hong Zhiyuan from Shenzhen University won the "First Prize of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Award", and Li Jiaxing from Sun Yat-sen University won the "First Prize of Academic Achievement Award".

It is understood that the winners of the first and second prizes of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Award will receive the right to use three office card slots for one year free of charge and entrepreneurship support services provided by the Specialized International Youth Community, the Guangdong-Macao International Industrial Integration Development Youth Innovation Base and the Xinhua Hong Kong and Macao International Youth Innovation Center.

In addition, the One Country, Two Systems Youth Forum signed strategic partnership agreements with the "Nansha District Hong Kong and Macao Youth Five Music Service Center" and the "Guangdong-Macao International Industry Integration Development Youth Innovation Base" respectively, which will jointly promote youth exchanges and integration in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and help Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas Chinese youth innovate and start businesses.
