The president of the PP in Ourense and the Diputación, Manuel Baltar, was detected at 173 kilometers per hour on the A-52 on April 23, Sunday, during the same trip in which he was sanctioned for driving at 215 kilometers per hour, within a highway where the maximum limit is 120 km / h.

The Civil Guard of Ourense has confirmed on Monday the information advanced by Cadena SER.

Baltar's official car was detected at 173 km / h by a velolaser at 17:44 p.m. at kilometer point 210, at the height of Allariz (Ourense); and at 18:38 p.m., less than an hour later, he received the stop for circulating at 215.

At the time, when only this last infraction was known, Baltar explained in a letter signed by him that what happened was due to an "oversight".

Baltar is now awaiting trial for the violation of 215. In that hearing to be held in the criminal court of Zamora and which is set for May 31, after the municipal elections, he must answer for the alleged commission of a crime against road safety. The Prosecutor's Office requested the withdrawal of his driving license.

His legal representative has appealed to understand that, paid the administrative penalty, which he did, there is no place for a trial.

However, by exceeding the maximum speed allowed by more than 80 kilometers per hour, once the margin of error of the kinemometer was established, speeding was considered a crime against road safety and the proceedings referred to the court.

At the time they stopped the official vehicle driven by Baltar himself to identify his driver, the agents who carried out the speed control did not have the certification of the margin of error of the speed meter, so they initially put him for speeding a fine of 600 euros, that with the prompt payment were in 300, and six points of deduction of the card.
