Prime Minister Kishida, who chaired the G7 Hiroshima Summit, held a press conference at Peace Park. He emphasized the achievements, saying that it was significant that President Zelensky of Ukraine was able to show solidarity with his face-to-face participation. He also expressed his determination to continue to lead efforts to maintain and strengthen a free and open international order based on the rule of law.

Commenting on the summit, Prime Minister Kishida said, "We held heart-to-heart discussions with the G7 leaders, shared our determination to work toward a world without nuclear weapons, and were able to launch the G7's first 'Hiroshima Vision' focusing on nuclear disarmament. I feel that it is historically significant to make such a statement."

He added, "Dreams and ideals are different. Our children, grandchildren, and descendants will take realistic steps step by step as citizens of Hiroshima from here in Hiroshima, from today, toward the ideal of living on a nuclear weapon-free earth." Now is the time to question this fundamental proposition of human survival."

Regarding the situation in Ukraine, "the summit was held in the midst of challenges to principles that our predecessors had built and defended for many years, such as respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity. It is significant that President Zelensky was invited to demonstrate the unwavering solidarity between the G7 and Ukraine, and to send a powerful message to the world that the G7 will affirm the importance of a free and open international order based on the rule of law and renew its determination to protect it."

"As the G7, we will make efforts to bring about a just and lasting peace to Ukraine as soon as possible," he said, adding that they agreed to strengthen their efforts to prevent sanctions against Russia from circumventing or evasion.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Kishida said, "The world is now facing multiple crises such as climate change and pandemics in addition to the invasion of Ukraine, and the 'Global South' and vulnerable people are being severely affected. Appeals to fully defend a free and open international order based on the rule of law could also be hollow."

He then explained the significance of the summit, saying, "We held serious discussions on various issues that must be addressed in order to bridge the gap between these countries and the G7."

In addition, the G7 and the invited countries compiled a statement of action to tackle the urgent food crisis in solidarity, and expressed recognition that they were able to share the recognition that they were able to address climate change issues in various ways according to the circumstances of each country.

Furthermore, as the novel coronavirus subsides, he confirmed solidarity to prepare for the next infectious disease crisis, and announced his intention to contribute a total of 7.5 billion dollars to the public and private sectors as a Japan in the field of global health.

He then stated, "Contributing to the resolution of global issues has always been the core mission of the G7, and now is the time for the G7 to listen to the voices of international partners facing various challenges and respond to them in detail."

On the other hand, with regard to the global economy, Prime Minister Abe stated that inflationary pressures and other problems are serious amid the prolonged invasion of Ukraine by Russia, and expressed his intention to promote efforts to strengthen the economic resilience and economic security of the international community as a whole based on the discussions at the Summit.

Regarding the response to China, he said, "We shared the view on the importance of conducting frank dialogue and directly expressing concerns and the need to work together on global issues, as well as the need to act as responsible members of the international community and our readiness to build constructive and stable relations through dialogue."

In closing, "We will safeguard the free and open international order based on the rule of law and firmly fulfill our duties during our presidency year, and we will continue to have opportunities to collaborate with international partners, including the Global South. We will continue the fruitful discussions here in Hiroshima and take the lead in strengthening cooperation with these countries in order to solve various issues together."
