Prime Minister Kishida is attending a summit meeting with President Zelensky of Ukraine. Prime Minister Kishida stated, "We will walk together to restore peace to the beautiful land of Ukraine," and called for exchanging views on future cooperation.

Prime Minister Kishida and President Zelensky of Ukraine laid flowers at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims in Hiroshima Peace Park and then attended a summit meeting at around 6:<> p.m.

At the outset, Prime Minister Kishida stated, "Russia must not threaten, let alone use nuclear weapons, and it is of great significance that we laid flowers together at the cenotaph in the Peace Park as an initiative toward a world without nuclear weapons."

After expressing his gratitude for his acceptance when he visited Ukraine in March, he stated, "I was able to see and feel the tense atmosphere on the ground with my own eyes and feel it firsthand, and I renewed my determination to walk together to restore peace to the beautiful land of Ukraine."

He then called for an exchange of views on future cooperation based on the results of this summit and President Zelensky's diplomatic efforts.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Kishida would like to directly convey his policy of continuing sanctions against Russia and support for Ukraine as a Japan and show his unwavering solidarity with Ukraine.
