The storms, rain and wind that have affected Andalusia on Thursday have caused a hundred incidents without there being evidence of personal injuries, according to Emergencias 112 Andalucía.
Most of the warnings have been produced by falling branches, trees and public furniture in streets and roads in municipalities in the provinces of Seville, Malaga and Cádiz between 15:00 p.m. and 18:00 p.m.
The rain, accompanied by storms and lightning, has also caused about thirty emergencies that have required the mobilization of the municipal services of Fire and Police for the drainage of water in basements, basements, garages and commercial premises in these three provinces.
In Seville, more than thirty warnings have been coordinated, especially for the fall of branches and trees on public roads and parks, as has happened in the capital on Avenida Manuel del Valle, and in Pino and Periodista Ramón Resa streets, where branches have fallen on cars.
In the province of Seville, notifications have also been concentrated for partial flooding of homes in Santiponce, Los Palacios and Villafranca and, above all, in Alcalá del Río where a waterspout has left a large part of the population of El Viar without electricity supply since 16:15 p.m.
A hailstorm that has fallen for just over ten minutes has destroyed entire plantations of tomatoes, eggplants, chickpeas or sunflower in Los Palacios and Villafranca (Seville), according to sources from the Coordinator of Organizations of Farmers and Ranchers (COAG).
The hailstorm has only lasted a little more than ten minutes, but it has been enough to destroy greenhouses and flood plantations, "and what has been destroyed has been holed, and that makes it lose a lot of value," explained the same sources.
The damages can be seen in fields throughout the town, and mainly affect the tomato, its star product, pending the evaluation of the cost of the hailstorm from tomorrow.
Several streets of the municipality, in addition, have been cut by the accumulation of hail, so municipal services are working to try to get everything back to normal.
In addition, the AP-4 motorway has been cut this afternoon as it passes through the town due to the accumulation of hail on the road, and since shortly before 20:00 hours it is open but it is requested to circulate with caution, while retentions are occurring in both directions of up to five kilometers in length.
In Malaga, rain and hail have caused the same type of incidents due to flooding and falling branches in municipalities on the Costa del Sol, Malaga capital and Axarquía.
In Vélez-Málaga, a wall of a private ditch of a farm dedicated to the cultivation of avocado on the Ribera road has fallen without any injuries in the direction of Almayate around 15:50 p.m.
In Carratraca, at 14:30 p.m., firefighters have intervened in the fire of a house on Virgen de la Salud Street, apparently caused by lightning, according to witnesses. There has only been material damage in the living room of the building to be empty at the time of the event.
In the Campo de Gibraltar area there have also been floods in homes in Algeciras between 14:00 p.m. and 15:00 p.m., while in the province of Huelva, at 16:15 p.m., there has been a hailstorm that has caused the cutting of the A-476 road at kilometer 27 in the direction of Nerva in Minas de Río Tinto, according to the drivers, and the performance of Road Maintenance.
The State Meteorological Agency maintains throughout Andalusia the yellow warning for rains and storms until 22:00 hours this Thursday due to the risk of accumulated rainfall of up to 15 liters per square meter in one hour.
