"The real sign of a Ukrainian offensive will be the use of Western armored vehicles," Matrick said.

He clarified that the signal that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing to launch a counteroffensive will be the concentration on the front line of a large number of Western weapons and heavy armored vehicles, including infantry fighting vehicles, tanks and armored personnel carriers.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine need a little more time to conduct a counteroffensive.

According to the Financial Times, Ukrainian officials are not sure that the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian army will be successful.

Retired US Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter doubted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces could launch a counteroffensive.
