The American Patriot anti-aircraft missile system in Kiev was destroyed by the carrier of the Daggers, a special version of the MiG-31K high-altitude long-range fighter-interceptor.

"In fact, due to the speed of the Dagger, the US air defense systems were suddenly hit from an air ambush - the enemy's combat crews could do nothing to protect their anti-aircraft systems," an informed source told RIA Novosti.

Earlier, the founder of the Military Russia portal, Dmitry Kornev, in a conversation with RT, admitted that the crew of the MiG-31K could be on combat patrols and hit the Patriot after it unmasked itself with a massive shooting of anti-aircraft missiles on the night of May 16.

The day before, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced the destruction of the Patriot air defense system in Kyiv by the Kinzhal hypersonic complex.

Later, CNN, citing an unnamed representative of the US administration, reported that one of the Patriot air defense systems supplied to Ukraine was damaged. The American side assesses the degree of damage.

At the same time, John Kirby, coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council, said that he could not yet confirm or deny the destruction of the Patriot air defense system in Kyiv, but the United States was ready to assist Ukraine in repairs.

According to the data cited by the Military Chronicle, as a result of the missile strike, Patriot launchers, a radar for illumination and target guidance, as well as a control station were damaged.

In addition, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reacted to Kiev's statements about the "Ukrainian air defense of all six flying Daggers" allegedly shot down over Kiev. According to him, the Russian military did not launch as many "Daggers" as the Ukrainian military "shoots down" every time.

"Moreover, the number of these "Ukrainian interceptions", and who really controls the American complexes there is still a big question, three times more than we let in," he said in a conversation with RIA Novosti.

Shoigu added that with the type of missiles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "they make mistakes all the time."

"That's why they don't fall," the head of the Ministry of Defense emphasized.

Propaganda shells of the Ministry of Defense

Servicemen of the Grad multiple launch rocket systems of the Central Military District fired shells with leaflets at the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the NVO zone, which contain calls to surrender. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

"Each leaflet contains calls for the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to voluntarily surrender, which will subsequently save their lives and prevent senseless bloodshed in further battles," the department noted.

It is noted that the fuses of propaganda shells are triggered in time, after the break, leaflets are scattered over an area of more than 1 sq. km.
