Televised speech, interview in the press, crowd bath in contact with the French... For several weeks, Emmanuel Macron has been everywhere. Why does the head of state use this strategy of "saturation" of the media landscape?

Emmanuel Macron wants to show that he is not prevented, that he is not blocked in his action. But it is also the consequence of a regret, the head of state admitted himself a few weeks ago, "I should have gotten wet more". In short, the president believes that his mistake is not having been present enough on the issue of pensions in recent months. He now does the opposite, through televised speeches, interviews in the press or crowd baths in contact with the French. The president is everywhere, he uses a strategy of "saturation" of the media landscape.

Emmanuel Macron, determined to respond

In his entourage, it is considered that this strategy is necessary. "Nothing beats the presidential word," says a heavyweight of the majority. In other words, many in macronia think that if it is not Emmanuel Macron who speaks, things are badly said or badly done.

It is also a response to his critics who have accused him in recent weeks of being locked in his palace and being disconnected. The Head of State is determined to respond. Beyond his media interventions, he multiplies the trips, the announcements, the political sequences. After reindustrialization, after Ukraine with the reception of Volodymyr Zelensky, he must fly this Tuesday afternoon to Iceland for a Council of Europe summit, before going to Japan for the G7. The saturation therefore also concerns his agenda, as if it were a question of turning the page on pensions.
