Recently, the 2nd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Cultural and Art Cooperation Summit was held in Guangzhou. Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao belong to the same Lingnan culture, with similar regions, similar cultural contexts, similar folk customs and complementary advantages. Shaping the humanistic spirit of the Bay Area and enhancing the cultural soft power of the Bay Area is the meaning of the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

In 2019, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued the Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, which clearly proposed to "jointly build a humanistic bay area" and focus on "giving full play to the comprehensive advantages of the long-term convergence and coexistence of Chinese and Western cultures in the Greater Bay Area, promoting exchanges and cooperation between Chinese culture and other cultures, innovating people-to-people exchanges, enriching the content of cultural exchanges, and improving the level of cultural exchanges".

In October 2021, with the approval of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, the first Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Cultural and Art Cooperation Summit was held in Zhuhai, marking the official establishment of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Cultural and Art Cooperation Summit mechanism. According to Jiang Shuzhuo, chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Writers Association, the language, living habits and cultural customs of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao have commonalities, and the greatest common divisor can be found in future cultural exchanges and cooperation.

After two years of development and exploration, the mechanism of the Literary and Art Cooperation Summit has transformed from ideas to actions, connecting dots into lines to surfaces, taking root in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and breaking waves in China's literary and art circles.

At this summit, the Guangdong Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Hong Kong Member Association of the China Federation of Literary and Artistic Associations, the Macao Chinese Cultural Friendship Association and the Nine Cities of the Pearl River Delta jointly launched the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Literary and Art Development Research Project, which will conduct in-depth discussions and research on the Bay Area Literary and Art Development Index and Bay Area Youth Literary and Art Creation. At the same time, the summit also admitted eight units, including the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, as member units to continuously broaden the ways and paths of cultural and artistic exchanges in the Bay Area.
