Last week, the gang could be blown up after a raid on a home in Karlshamn municipality. On Friday, five men were detained, all on probable cause on suspicion of serious drug offenses.

"I can't go into any details. It is early in the investigation and strict pre-trial confidentiality. But what I can say is that it involves a significant amount of oxycodone, says prosecutor Hedvig Lundblad.

Accounted for a large part of oxy sales

SVT Nyheter Blekinge has previously examined the abuse in Karlshamn municipality and been able to tell how more and more young people are stuck in abuse of the highly addictive drug oxycontin.

According to what SVT has learned, two of the now detained men, two brothers in their 25s, are some of those who accounted for a significant part of the sales spread by the drug in Karlshamn.

"I can confirm that the brothers are big cranes in Karlshamn, but I don't know more than that in this case," a source told SVT.

Convicted in the past

The five men who have now been detained on suspicion of serious narcotics offences have previously been convicted to varying degrees. Those involved are all men, aged between 23 and 32. The sentences deal with everything from drug smuggling to unlawful intrusion and extortion.

As for the two brothers, they are also listed in the criminal record. The younger of the brothers has previously been convicted of several counts of drug offenses, even then it has been about unprescribed opioid drugs that the man has sold on to others.

Last year, he received four months in prison for three counts of drug offenses. He was also convicted of unlawful driving and aggravated drunk driving.
