"Planted an explosive device": the suspect in the assassination attempt on Prilepin acted on the instructions of the special services of Ukraine

The suspect of involvement in the assassination attempt on Zakhar Prilepin confessed to working for the special services of Ukraine, the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reports.

The department also named the name of the detainee - Alexander Permyakov.

"The suspect was detained, during the interrogation he testifies that he acted on the instructions of the special services of Ukraine. On the way of Zakhar Prilepin's car, Permyakov planted an explosive device, which he detonated remotely. After that, he fled the scene, but was detained by law enforcement officers when he came out of the forest in another settlement, "the RF IC said.

It is noted that the interrogation of Permyakov continues, the man "testifies on the circumstances of the crime."

RT managed to talk to the detainee's sister Irina. She said that the man received Russian citizenship in 2023. He worked at a construction site, presumably in Moscow. Permyakov also served in the militia of the DPR, where he voluntarily went, according to his sister, in 2015.

She also said that Alexander was convicted as a minor. He had no wife or children.

Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia stated that during the activities under the "Interception" plan, three police officers detained a previously convicted man born in 1993, who may be involved in the crime.

The ministry also published a video of the detainee, who is taken to the police department. According to TASS, citing a source in law enforcement agencies, the man was convicted under the article "Robbery committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons."

At the same time, the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Irina Volk, said that the "search for possible accomplices" continues. According to TASS, the police and the FSB identified several addresses in Moscow and the Moscow region, where the likely participants in the assassination lived.

Recall that on the morning of May 6, in the village of Pionersky, Borsky District, Nizhny Novgorod Region, an explosive device detonated in a car in which Zakhar Prilepin and an employee of the Oplot battalion of the Russian Guard Alexander Shubin with the call sign Evil were located. Shubin died, Prilepin was wounded.

In turn, the war correspondent, the author of the WarGonzo Telegram channel, Semyon Pegov, said that the deceased was a close friend of Prilepin.

The Investigative Committee opened criminal proceedings under the article "Terrorist act". The progress and results of the investigation of the case were put under control by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation.

Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev sent a telegram to Zakhar Prilepin, calling the attempt on his life a vile attack by Nazi extremists. According to him, the crimes of the "cowardly enemy" faced by Russia will not go unpunished, they have no statute of limitations.

"The perpetrators, as well as their ideological sponsors, will not be able to avoid punishment. I am sure that vitality and fortitude will help you overcome the consequences of injury and return to active work for the good of the Motherland, to writing and journalistic work, to political activity, "Medvedev said in a message, the text of which leads RIA Novosti.

According to the acting head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, the Kiev regime continues to demonstrate a terrorist nature.

"For nine years we have felt the insignificance of the current Kiev politicians. Unable to win on the battlefield, the Ukrainian regime viciously targets the defenders of the Russian world and opinion leaders," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

In turn, the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, called for decisive action in response to this terrorist attack.

"We need targeted and systematic work to eliminate not only the perpetrators, but also the masterminds of terrorism and war criminals. This is the only way to stop the wave of terror," he stressed.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, who immediately after the incident indicated that the United States and Great Britain were directly responsible for the incident, later added that she expected the world community to remain silent as a reaction to the incident.
