Lars-Åke Vikström, SD's group leader in Boden, believes that the deportation decisions have been tone-deaf given the need for labor in shortage occupations. Not least in view of the major industrial transition.

"The Sweden Democrats are actually people and we look at people. We are not looking at rigid bureaucracy," he says.

"Must review the regulations"

At the same time, the group leader has an understanding of the Migration Agency's decision.

"At the same time, I understand the administrators because they relate to a regulatory framework. But is it possible that the regulations are too tight? The regulations must be reviewed!

Do you have your party colleagues in the government with you?

"I don't know because I haven't talked to them about this matter. I only know how we talk internally in Boden and we cannot change the regulations. But I think it would be appropriate to review the regulations at national level.

Won't address the issue

Is this something you will bring up with them?

– No, it is not an issue that I will raise because such issues are reported well in advance at the country days. But I find it hard to believe that my party colleagues would look at it in any other way than that you have to review the regulations, and I suspect that you will do it on a higher level, says Lars-Åke Vikström.

In the video, SD's group member explains why he thinks the Migration Board should relax the rules for some people while at the same time he wants stricter rules in the Extradition Act for others.
