A plane carrying urgent aid to Sudan has set off from the Qatari capital Doha, bound for Port Sudan on the Red Sea.

The plane of Qatar's Emiri Air Force is carrying food aid that will be distributed in areas affected by armed clashes in Sudan.

The Qatari Air Force is also scheduled to evacuate Sudanese citizens residing in Doha from the port of Port Sudan, and some humanitarian cases that require urgent medical care.

Qatari charities are coordinating with a number of international organizations to arrange the delivery of urgent humanitarian aid to a number of affected areas.

Qatar Charity is currently working in the field, providing food and medicine supplies in Khartoum, and the Qatar Red Crescent is also making arrangements for the delivery of emergency aid.
