Huaihua, May 5 (Zhongxin Net) -- 5 overseas Chinese-language media and overseas media from 8 ASEAN countries arrived in Huaihua, Hunan Province, on the 14th to participate in the "Walking China - 4 ASEAN Mainstream Media Huaihua Tour" interview activity. In the coming week, the delegation will visit the first Hunan (Huaihua) RCEP Economic and Trade Expo to explore the development opportunities of Huaihua and ASEAN industrial exchanges and complementarity. Visit Huaihua International Dry Port and related enterprises, and walk into Huaihua ancient villages to feel the intangible cultural heritage of ethnic minorities, experience Jitan tea making technology and folk customs, etc.

Huaihua is located in the center of the border areas of the five provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) of Xiang, Hubei, Chongqing, Qian and Guizhou, and is an important node city on the national "Belt and Road" initiative and the eastern route of the western land-sea new channel "Chongqing-Huaihua-Liuzhou-Beibu Gulf", and is also one of the national logistics hub bearing cities.

As an important gateway for Hunan to connect with ASEAN, Huaihua City has given full play to the leading and fulcrum role of the international dry port in recent years, and has opened up Huaihua-Guangxi Beibu Gulf/Guangdong Zhanjiang Port to the sea (rail-sea combined transport channel), Huaihua-Yunnan Mohan-Vientiane Laos (China-Laos Railway), Huaihua-Guangxi Pingxiang-Vietnam Hanoi (China-Vietnam Railway) and other international logistics channels for ASEAN. ASEAN commodities already have the ability to form hubs in the city.

Li Chunqiu, deputy secretary of the Huaihua Municipal Party Committee and mayor, said in a meeting with the media delegation that ASEAN has long been Huaihua's largest trading partner, and Huaihua, relying on the unique advantages of the new land-sea corridor in the west and the China-Laos railway at the intersection of Huaihua, has taken the initiative to plan and make every effort to build Huaihua International Dry Port, accelerate the construction of industrial clusters connecting with ASEAN, and carry out in-depth foreign economic, trade and cultural exchanges, and is becoming a bridgehead for docking with ASEAN. In particular, the upcoming opening of the first Hunan (Huaihua) RCEP Economic and Trade Expo will build a new economic and trade exchange and cooperation platform for provinces and municipalities along the new land-sea corridor in the west to seize the opportunity of RCEP implementation and deeply connect with the RCEP market, better promote Huaihua and even Hunan to coordinate the "two markets" and "two resources" at home and abroad, promote domestic and international dual circulation, and accelerate the construction of a highland of reform and opening up in inland areas. It is hoped that media friends from ASEAN countries will further deepen their understanding of Huaihua during this trip and build bridges for promoting exchanges and cooperation between Huaihua and ASEAN countries.

Zhang Mingxin, editor-in-chief of China News Service, said that since 2012, with the support of the Propaganda Department of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee, China News Service's brand activity "Walking China" has been successfully held in Hunan for many times, inviting more than 120 overseas Chinese media executives and journalists to Hunan for interviews.

Zhang Mingxin said: The report of the 20th CPC National Congress proposed speeding up the construction of a new land-sea channel in the western region. China News Service invited overseas Chinese media and overseas mainstream media from ASEAN countries to enter Damei Huaihua to conduct concentrated interviews and publicity reports on Huaihua's "building a strategic gateway city for the new land-sea channel in the west" and the development of cultural tourism industry, hoping to display Huaihua's style more three-dimensionally, comprehensively and vividly at home and abroad, spread Huaihua's voice, and let more overseas Chinese and foreigners understand and invest in Huaihua.
