• Ukraine War Zelenskiy threatens with drones against the Kremlin Putin's great parade

Russia has denounced a Ukrainian drone attack on the Kremlin aimed at assassinating Russian President Vladimir Putin, accusations that were denied by Kiev, which considers it an excuse to justify a new escalation. "Tonight the Kiev regime tried to hit with drones the residence of the president of Russia," the Kremlin said in a statement, in which it said that two unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down whose remains fell in the presidential compound without causing casualties or material damage.

This point was denied by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. "We do not attack Putin or Moscow, we only fight on our territory, we defend our towns and cities," Zelenskiy said in Helsinki at a joint news conference with the leaders of Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Iceland. "We haven't attacked Putin, we leave him for a court."

In addition, at least 16 people have died on Wednesday in massive Russian bombing on Kherson, according to information from the Prosecutor's Office of that Ukrainian region, partially occupied by Russian troops. According to Ukrinform, the bombings carried out on civilian infrastructure indiscriminately and caused, in addition to the fatalities, at least 22 wounded.

Ukrainian air defenses destroy 18 of 24 Russian drones tonight

Ukrainian air defenses claimed to have shot down 18 of the 24 kamikaze drones Russia launched in a pre-dawn strike on Thursday.

In a statement, the Kiev city administration said all missiles and drones aimed at the Ukrainian capital, for the third time in four days, have been destroyed.

"The Russians have attacked Kiev using marauding munitions and Shahed missiles, probably of the ballistic type," the administration said, according to Reuters.

Of the 15 Shahed kamikaze drones fired at the Black Sea coastal city of Odessa, air defenses destroyed 12, while three hit a university compound. There were no casualties, the military command of southern Ukraine said.

Russia has bombed Ukraine regularly since October last year, striking various targets. The latest explosions came less than 24 hours after Kiev said 21 people had been killed in a Russian attack on the city of Kherson.

Fire at another fuel depot in southern Russia

A fire broke out today at another fuel depot in southern Russia, this time at the Ilskii refinery, about 30 kilometers northeast of the port of Novorosiisk, where the Russian Black Sea Fleet has one of its bases, local authorities said.

"At 02.55 (Moscow time, 23.55 GMT) the fire warning arrived," said the Emergency Department of the Krasnodar region, which added that the fire was put out by firefighters in less than two and a half hours, reports Efe.

The incident, whose causes were not reported, caused no casualties and represented a danger to the population, Krasnodar Governor Veniamin Kondratiev said on his Telegram channel.

On Wednesday, regional emergency services reported that the fire that occurred the night before in a fuel depot in the town of Volná, just over 10 kilometers from the place where the bridge linking Russia with the annexed Crimean peninsula begins, was caused by the impact of a drone.

In recent days there has been a series of fuel depot fires and attacks on railway lines in neighboring Russian regions of Ukraine, which military analysts consider as possible preparations for the Ukrainian counterdefense announced by the Kiev government.

Explosions and air alert sound in Kiev and other regions of Ukraine

Several explosions have been heard this morning on Thursday in Kiev, where the air alert has been activated, as well as in other regions of Ukraine such as Odessa, local media have published.

Authorities have asked citizens to remain in shelters until the air alert is deactivated.

"Air defense works! Stay calm! Stay in the shelters until the air alarm sounds!", the military administration of the city of Kiev published this morning on its Telegram profile.

At the moment it is unknown if these are attacks with bombs that have impacted and if there have been personal and material damages.

The Ukrainian authorities warned on Wednesday of the possibility that Russia bombs Kiev with the excuse of the alleged attack committed last night with drones against the Kremlin and that the Russian Presidency blames Ukraine.
