"Fast food restaurants sell burgers and other foods with a high carbohydrate content. Such an unhealthy diet contributes to obesity and diabetes. They sell, to put it mildly, junk food, especially for young people," the parliamentarian said.

Tumusov noted that a complete ban on promotions will most likely not be introduced, but it is worth limiting their number.

"It is proposed to limit the marketing activities of these restaurants so that they do not carry out promotions that lead to an increase in the consumption of such food. I think this action is in the right direction. But how effective this measure will be will have to be seen from law enforcement practice," the deputy believes.

At the same time, the interlocutor of RT noted the importance of "instilling knowledge in the field of healthy eating."

"It seems to me that it is necessary to instill a culture of healthy eating. This is the most correct way. We have a lot of prohibitions, and this annoys people ... We must say that this (fast food. - RT) is harmful. Pay attention to a healthy diet, more greens and fiber. It would be most correct to make such advertisements," Tumusov concluded.

Earlier, the director of the Institute for the Study of Contemporary Politics, Anton Orlov, proposed banning fast food restaurants from using promotional trading mechanisms.

In his address, the political scientist noted that domestic and foreign medical experts have repeatedly noted that regular consumption of products of fast food establishments (fast food), which has a high content of sugar, salt, fats, can cause significant harm to health.
