De Croo recalled that Belgium uses revenues from frozen Russian assets in the amount of € 200 million.

"Last March, Belgium seized approximately €200 million in proceeds from Russian assets frozen in Belgium. And we will use these funds to support Ukraine's war effort and help Ukrainian refugees in Belgium," RIA Novosti quoted the politician as saying.

In his opinion, his country should go even further on this issue.

"We must use Russian money to rebuild Ukraine, which they are destroying. It makes sense both economically and morally," he continued.

The Belgian prime minister also said that the Belgian authorities had frozen more than €180 billion in assets of the Central Bank of Russia.

As reported in April, the Belgian government received unplanned revenues thanks to taxes on a percentage of frozen Russian assets.
