Poland is turning into a springboard for pumping the Kyiv regime with weapons. This is stated in the statement of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"Warsaw willingly offers the territory of the country as a springboard for pumping weapons to the Kyiv regime, sends Polish mercenaries to Ukraine," the diplomatic department said.

The Russian Foreign Ministry added that Poland today takes an "openly aggressive hostile position towards Russia."

This statement was published on the agency's website in connection with the summoning to the Russian Foreign Ministry of the Chargé d'Affaires of Poland in Russia, Jacek Szczademski. He was strongly protested in connection with the seizure of the school building at the Russian Embassy in Poland by Polish security forces on April 29, which was a violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961.

Political adventurism

It is worth noting that Poland is one of the most active supporters of the Kyiv regime and is one of the largest military donors to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to the Wirtualna Polska portal, as of February 2023, Warsaw has transferred weapons to Ukraine for a total of about €2.2 billion.

In particular, Poland has supplied Kyiv with 250 tanks and plans to send another 60 PT-91 tanks (a version of the T-72 modernized by Poland), 14 German Leopard 2 tanks and about 100 Rosomak armored personnel carriers to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In addition, the Polish authorities handed over to Kiev Soviet self-propelled artillery mounts "Gvozdika", multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) BM-21 "Grad", anti-aircraft missile launchers 9K33 "Osa" and S-125 "Neva", as well as self-propelled guns of its own production Krab along with a large number of ammunition for various types of weapons.

Poland also became one of the few countries that transferred combat aircraft to Ukraine. We are talking about a batch of Soviet MiG-29 fighters.

The Polish side also participates in the training of the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of the EU military mission.

At the same time, the role of Warsaw in the conflict in Ukraine is not limited to the supply of weapons and the training of soldiers. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Poland is sending mercenaries to Ukraine. This was announced in February 2023 by the official representative of the diplomatic department Maria Zakharova.

"Warsaw is trying with all its might to hush up the well-known facts of the mass participation of its citizens with the direct encouragement of the authorities in hostilities in Ukraine, although this is a flagrant violation of Polish law," the diplomat said.

Zakharova added that Poland is also involved in the training of Ukrainian militants.

"They trained those who, then, under the guise of supposedly peaceful protesters, were actually engaged in atrocities and murders, including on the Maidan in 2014," she said.

According to her, such actions of Warsaw "clearly demonstrate the political adventurism so inherent in the Polish regime."

Logistical rear

Against the backdrop of active participation in the conflict in Ukraine, Warsaw is stepping up military cooperation with Washington. In particular, the Polish authorities intend to deploy infrastructure in the country to service American Abrams tanks.

"It is important for me that a center for maintenance, service and maintenance of Abrams tanks for the whole of Europe is located in Poland. It will be possible," Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on April 12, speaking at the Anniston Army Depot (ANAD) plant in the United States.

The politician also said that Warsaw wants to participate in the production of depleted uranium shells for Abrams.

"We also strive to ensure that the production of cores of ammunition for Abrams tanks, depleted uranium cores, ultra-modern ammunition is located in Poland," the head of the Polish government said.

At the same time, the head of the Cabinet stressed that at the moment the main problem of Kiev in the conflict is the lack of ammunition.

"Therefore, our national plan for the creation of appropriate forces, the corresponding potential of ammunition is very important," Morawiecki said. "And this program can be strengthened precisely because depleted uranium cores can be produced in Poland."

At the same time, Warsaw is developing infrastructure for storing NATO equipment.

"Together with our American partners, we will create a logistics rear, a rear of equipment. Several thousand units of NATO military equipment will be stored in Powidz and other places in Poland. Thanks to this, we will be much safer," Morawiecki said on April 11.

The direct American military presence on the territory of the republic is also increasing. So, in March 2022, the United States deployed two batteries of Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems in Poland.

In 2023, the first permanent garrison of American troops was also opened in the country. The new unit will be engaged in "infrastructure support" and management of "advanced outposts of American troops."

In total, about 10 thousand American soldiers are stationed in Poland.

"A real totalitarian state"

Analysts share the point of view of the Russian Foreign Ministry that Poland today has become an anti-Russian bridgehead. According to RISS expert Oleg Nemensky, the republic has been moving in this direction for more than a year.

In turn, political scientist Yuri Bondarenko states that "Poland has become the main distribution hub for all American military assistance in Eastern and Central Europe."

"A few years ago, the Anglo-Saxons began to consider Poland as a counterweight to old Europe. It was assumed that cash flows, weapons, and everything that was possible would go through Poland. The Poles also set out to become a gas hub. So Warsaw's goals are very ambitious, "the analyst explained in a conversation with RT.

A similar point of view is shared by Oleg Nemensky.

"Poland today serves as the most important logistics hub for the provision of all Western military assistance to Ukrainians. At the same time, it should be noted that Poland is not a simple instrument of US policy, but acts as a completely subjective player who himself actively takes initiatives in this area. Many initiatives in the field of forming Western public opinion and uniting the Western community in support of Ukraine come not from Washington, but from Warsaw, "the analyst said in an interview with RT.

Yuri Bondarenko believes that the ultimate goal of such military preparations in Poland is a confrontation with Russia.

"Poland does not hide its goal. Warsaw has only one: the destruction of Russia. There are no other goals. Everything else is just a means to achieve it. Whoever thinks otherwise is simply not familiar with Poland, "the specialist noted.

At the same time, the political scientist believes that such a confrontational course of Warsaw does not meet the interests of the Polish people.

"Such a policy of the Polish authorities does not meet the needs of the people. It is not customary to ask people in Poland. In Poland, a real totalitarian state has been built, which is very similar to the regime of Józef Piłsudski in the 1920s and 1930s. The only difference between the various elite groups in Poland is that one part of them is oriented towards Washington, and the other is oriented towards Brussels. Now those who are focused on the United States rule, but they are all Russophobes, regardless of party affiliation," Yuriy Bondarenko concluded.
