"The European Commission has taken exceptional and temporary measures to export grain from Ukraine. The measures will come into force on May 2 and will be valid until June 5, 2023. During this period, wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower from Ukraine can be freely sold in all EU countries, except Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia," the European Commission said.

On April 28, the European Commission agreed with five EU countries to restrict exports of wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower from Ukraine, as well as to provide farmers affected by grain overstocking with €100 million in exchange for lifting unilateral bans on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products.

Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenko said that Ukraine had sent notes of protest to Poland and the European Union over blocking imports of agricultural products.

He noted that there are all legal grounds to immediately resume Ukraine's agricultural exports to Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Bulgaria.
