Pro-Russian authorities in Crimea announced that they had repelled a drone attack by Ukraine from several sides, and while Moscow announced the advance of its forces in Bakhamout, the Ukrainian military confirmed that Russia had failed to control the city.

Crimea's pro-Russian President Alexei Oksenov said his forces had shot down a Ukrainian drone that tried to carry out an attack on the western side of the peninsula.

For his part, Mikhail Razvogaev, governor of the city of Sevastopol, announced that the Black Sea Fleet, supported by air defenses, repelled a Ukrainian attack with drones on the city, and that at least one march was shot down.

Battles of Bakhmut

In Bachmut, the Russian Defense Ministry said its military units bombed Ukrainian military installations overnight, hitting all their targets, and was continuing their advance in Bachmut.

Ukrainian Deputy Defence Minister Anna Malyar said Russian forces had failed to capture the eastern city of Pakhmut, even though they had thrown all their resources into that battle.

Maliar said fighting was still ongoing inside Pakhmut and that Ukrainian forces had managed to retake some positions there after the Russians had little success.

For his part, the commander of the Eastern Group of Ukrainian forces, Oleksandr Sersky, said that his forces inflicted heavy losses on Russian forces, and captured a number of soldiers east of Liman.

Sirsky added – during an inspection visit to the battlefronts in the city of Pakhmut – that Ukrainian forces are working to prevent Russian forces from controlling the city, despite their continuous attempts to penetrate Ukrainian positions.

Over the past few months, the battle for Bachmut has become the focus of a conflict whose front lines have shifted slightly since late last year, leaving both sides seeking progress.

Wagner ammunition

The commander of the "Wagner" forces, Yevgeny Prigozhin, confirmed earlier that his forces are advancing in the city of Bakhamout, and said that Ukrainian forces control only about 3 square kilometers from Pakhmut, which has been witnessing heavy fighting for 8 months.

At the same time, he complained about the lack of ammunition in his forces, and said that he would withdraw from Bachmut if the Russian military leadership did not solve the problem of ammunition shortage, stressing that the losses of his forces would have been less if the required ammunition had been available.

He said in a video posted on his Telegram channel that his fighters needed about 300 tons of artillery shells a day in the attack on Pakhmut, but they received only a third of that amount, blaming the Russian army command for this.

Kiev and Kherson

In the capital Kiev, the Ukrainian army announced on Monday morning that it had repelled a new wave of Russian missile attacks, as it completed preparations for a counterattack on Russian forces in the country.

Ukraine's military said its defenses shot down 15 of the 18 Russian missiles fired from strategic aircraft from the Caspian Sea.

Authorities in the Kiev region, which includes the capital, said air defenses repelled rocket attacks in the early hours of the morning.

In Kherson, the Ukrainian governor of the southern province said two civilians were killed and several others wounded in Russian shelling in the south of the province.

The official confirmed that Russian forces bombarded the province 160 times in the past hours, using heavy artillery, Grad rockets and drones.
