"Those months of competition made me love my hometown even more. It also made me realize more deeply that each of us is the business card of our hometown and the spokesperson of our hometown. Since Yiyang won the first "Small Town Girl Competition", the Chifeng City Cultural and Tourism Bureau in her hometown of Inner Mongolia threw an olive branch to her. Today, as a professional promoter of cultural tourism in Chifeng City, she can't remember how many promotion activities she has participated in.

In the past few days, she is shooting short videos with Internet celebrities and good friends Duoduoqimuge to promote Chifeng's tourism resources.

There are more than a thousand "Inner Mongolian small town girls" like Yiyang. Among them, there are female college students from agricultural and pastoral areas, small shop owners who start their own businesses, village and town teachers, government civil servants, and unemployed girls who are still very confused about the future... Today, they are scattered in villages and towns across Inner Mongolia, many of them rooted in their homeland and speaking for their hometowns in their own ways.

"Compared with the Internet celebrity stories of 'millions a day', it is more practical to enable some young people to achieve a happy life of 'more than 10,000 a month' in their hometown." Yu Zichuan is one of their mentors and their bole. The event he initiated is the "first stage" that many girls dream of starting.

Yu Zichuan was born in a rural family in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, and was the chairman of the organizing committee of the 64th to 66th Miss World China. In 2019, he returned to his hometown to start a business, and the Inner Mongolia Small Town Girl Competition was the entrepreneurial project he and his team had been preparing for nearly a year. The competition adopts the form of "professional training + skill competition + business incubation + typical commendation" to lead and drive young people to pay attention to good resources and opportunities in tourism and special products in their hometowns, and help them find entrepreneurial employment opportunities that can not only revitalize their hometowns, but also show themselves.

Talking about his original intention, Yu Zichuan was very emotional. He told reporters that the "post-80s" and later young people generally received a good education, and this knowledge made people look more at the so-called poetry and distant places, but they knew little about the small place where they were born and raised. "Actually, happiness may be in the place where I was born and raised."

"The small town girl competition is not a beauty contest, nor is it to create an Internet celebrity in the traditional sense, the spirit of the small town girl is to love her hometown, be confident and self-reliant, and be sincere and professional." Yu Zichuan believes that the replenishment of knowledge and the improvement of skills are simple, and only confidence and love are the keys to keeping young people in their hometowns.

In 2020, the first Inner Mongolia Small Town Girls Competition was successfully held. With the help of professional teachers, more than 400 girls from small towns learned short video creation, live broadcasting, e-commerce operations and hometown folk knowledge, and carried out competitive competitions in categories such as cultural tourism resource promotion, talent show, and live broadcast goods.

In 2022, under the guidance of the China Industrial Development Research Institute, co-sponsored by Inner Mongolia Daily, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Committee of the Communist Youth League and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Women's Federation, and co-organized by the Inner Mongolia Department of Culture and Tourism, the number of applicants exceeded 1300,20. During the competition, more than 170 online live broadcasts were organized, with a cumulative volume of about 1.5 million yuan and media exposure of nearly <> million yuan.

"Most of the girls have no self-media experience and no fans. On average, each person can have hundreds or even thousands of sales per live broadcast, which is still very good. Yu Zichuan told reporters that through the competition, the girls felt the opportunity and hope to stay in their hometown for development, and their hometown also found a sustainable way to promote resources and sell special products.

After the competition, the girls still had close contact, they all made new friends during the competition, and many of them also found "peer" partners, information sharing, mutual help, and cross-regional cooperation.

Gao Ya of Xiaohe Village of Xilin Golmeng and Serena Ma Yuou, who is engaged in handicraft design in Alashan League, are also contestants. Gao Ya plans to do an ancient cultural tourism experience project in the village this year, and has been connecting with Serena Ma Yuou in the past few months, asking her to help design accessories and train fellow villagers. "The accessories she makes are very good-looking. My hometown Duolun is the main producing area of agate raw ore, and design and processing is our short board. Gao Ya said.

The reporter also felt during the interview that the competition not only opened the door to a new world for the girls, but also injected vitality and vitality into many small towns in Inner Mongolia. The light emitted by the girls illuminated more people.

Over the past two years, more and more small-town girls have fallen in love with their hometowns and taken root in rural pastoral areas. Some of them have become cultural tourism promoters in their hometowns; Some are engaged in e-commerce work in agricultural and livestock enterprises, selling hometown specialties to the north and south of the country; Some have received hundreds of thousands of likes on self-media platforms by sharing their hometown life...

"As a result of the competition, many young people from all over Inner Mongolia returned to their hometowns to try to start businesses, and we conducted a one-on-one needs survey for 30 of them." Yu Zichuan confessed that for many girls, starting a business is not small. "Capital, office space, and e-commerce expertise may become bottlenecks for entrepreneurship. Some girls still don't know where they are going because they don't know enough about their hometown. ”

Therefore, in addition to continuing to prepare for the new Small Town Girl Competition, Yu Zichuan and his partners also launched the construction of small town girl entrepreneurship bases in Chifeng, Xing'an League, Hohhot and other places in Inner Mongolia, planning to build a "small town girl" specialty e-commerce brand, incorporating local specialties and tourism resources into it, and selling and promoting them through live streaming e-commerce and social e-commerce. "This requires people from all walks of life, and we hope to bring more willing young people together."

"Compared with big cities, the rural and pastoral conditions that you have to face when returning home will definitely be much worse. What is most needed at this time is to persevere and let it slowly bear fruit. And in this persistence, there must be love for the hometown. Yu Zichuan said, "If tens of thousands of young people like small town girls who love their hometown, are self-confident, self-reliant, sincere and professional, return to their hometown to start a business and revitalize their hometown." I think rural revitalization is really not far from being realized. (End)
