According to the official statement, restrictions are planned to be applied against citizens who attempt to "undermine the democratic process", including elections, or try to overthrow the constitutional order.
The mechanism developed in the EU looks like an empty list without names and companies, which is supposed to be replenished in the future. All its defendants will be banned from entering the territory of the European Union and assets will be frozen.
Earlier, the EU Council approved the creation of a civilian security mission to assist Moldova in countering hybrid and cyber threats.
The purpose of the mission is to increase the stability of Moldova's security sector in the areas of responding to crises and hybrid threats.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the European Union will rule Moldova under the guise of a partnership mission.
