It was in early January that a man and a woman were arrested in Östersund. At first, the suspicion was theft from a store, but later when the police made a closer examination in the couple's car, both drugs and cash were found.
Among other things, more than 400 drug-classified tablets were found and, in addition, a variety of other narcotics, including amphetamines and ecstasy.
Sold drugs online
Upon subsequent review of the couple's mobile phones, the police found a large number of chat messages on several different apps that dealt with the purchase and sale of drugs linked to several places in Norrland. They have also sold drugs through various online drug forums.
The drugs were handled in Östersund but also in Gävle, Västerås and Stockholm.
Duo gets jail time
The couple is sentenced to nine months in prison for drug offences, the man is also sentenced to money laundering offences. A third person is sentenced to probation for drug and money laundering offences.
The indictment mentioned a third man who has now been acquitted by Östersund District Court.
