• Events The author of the double fatal outrage in Madrid was persecuted for not carrying a baby in a child seat and has numerous antecedents

The author of the double fatal outrage registered this Thursday in Madrid, identified but not yet arrested, has "dozens" of police records and fled from the Civil Guard when a patrol stopped him when he saw that a baby was traveling in the arms of a person, without the mandatory seat, report sources of the investigation. The fugitive lives in a very troubled neighborhood of Carabanchel and has several arrests for the theft of catalysts. When the agents of the Armed Institute realized in a camouflaged car that a child was in the car without the mandatory restraint seat, they stopped him in the municipality of Leganés, at kilometer 6.4 of the M-406 road that connects Getafe and Alcorcón.

But the driver fled and continued towards the Extremadura road (A-5) in the direction of Madrid capital. The car, a Mercedes Benz, pursued by the Civil Guard entered at high speed in the Paseo de Extremadura and ran over several people, with the final balance of two dead -two men of 72 and 81 years-, three injured -a couple of 65 years and a woman of 90- and two more people attended by the emergency services.

According to Efe sources of the investigation, at the end of the ride the driver stopped the car and continued his escape on foot, leaving in the vehicle two adults - a man and a woman - and the baby, eight months old. The driver is still on the run and the police have arrested the two companions.

Investigators have identified the perpetrator of the outrage as P.V.S, born in 1991, and attribute "dozens" of antecedents to him. Police have arrested him on recent occasions for stealing catalytic converters from cars. In fact, the car in which he fled was listed as fleeing after being identified in some theft of these vehicle parts.

The fugitive could have counted for the escape with the help of several people who came to look for him in the area of Madrid Río. Officers are watching security cameras in the area to try to figure out the path the driver took after getting out of the car.
