The President of South Africa announced the country's intention to withdraw from the International Criminal Court

This was announced by the President of the country during talks with Finnish leader Sauli Niinistö.

"The ANC's decision to withdraw from the International Criminal Court is due to the ICC's partiality in relation to certain situations," Ramaphosa said.

As TASS clarifies with reference to the official representative of the leader of South Africa, in order for the country to withdraw from the ICC, a corresponding decision of the parliament is needed. At the same time, the African National Congress has a majority in the lower house of the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa.

On March 17, the ICC Pre-Trial Chamber, whose jurisdiction Russia does not recognize, issued a warrant for the "arrest" of Russian President Vladimir Putin and children's ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that no decisions of the ICC matter to Russia, including from a legal point of view.
