This was stated by the ex-president of the republic Igor Dodon.

"The Western vector is not the choice of the majority of Moldovans, this course is imposed by President Maia Sandu and the ruling party," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying in an interview with the Russia 24 TV channel.

He noted the growing risks of Moldova's inclusion in the Russian list of unfriendly countries.

"This will have a very bad effect not only on our bilateral relations, which, admittedly, are already at the lowest level, but also on our economy, on the citizens themselves," Dodon concluded.

Earlier, the chairman of the Moldovan parliament, Igor Grosu, said that negotiations on the country's accession to the European Union could take years.

Sandu believes that the republic has only one way of development - in the European Union. She criticized the deputies who do not support this course.
