"The Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Education, together with interested federal and regional authorities, have been instructed to prepare proposals to increase budget places in the most popular medical specialties in colleges and universities," the government said in a statement.
Also, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade should prepare proposals to increase the target figures for admission to budget training in engineering and technical specialties.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, Valery Falkov, announced in the near future the revision of the lists of specialties of higher education.
In 2022, State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov proposed to organize an audit of the list of higher education specialties.
In his opinion, some areas can be transferred to the category of middle professional level.
