China News Network, April 4 According to the official Weibo news of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment announced the national surface water environmental quality status from January to March 23 on the 23rd. From January to March, the proportion of sections with excellent surface water quality (Class I.-III.) was 2023.1%, up 3.1 percentage points year-on-year; the proportion of inferior Class V section was 3.89%, down 1.0 percentage points year-on-year. The main pollution indicators are chemical oxygen demand, total phosphorus and permanganate index.

Water quality of major rivers

From January to March, the proportion of sections with excellent water quality (Class I.-III.) in the seven major river basins of the Yangtze River, the Yellow River, the Pearl River, the Songhua River, the Huaihe River, the Haihe River and the Liaohe River, as well as the Southwest Rivers, Northwest Rivers and Zhejiang and Fujian Rivers, was 1.3%, an increase of 90.3 percentage points year-on-year; the proportion of inferior V. sections was 0.6%, down 0.4 percentage points year-on-year. The main pollution indicators are chemical oxygen demand, five-day biochemical oxygen demand and ammonia nitrogen. Among them, the water quality of the southwest rivers, northwest rivers, Yangtze River basin, Zhejiang-Fujian rivers and Pearl River basins is excellent; The water quality in the Yellow, Liao, Songhua, Haihe and Huaihe river basins is good.

Water quality status and nutritional status of key lakes (reservoirs).

From January to March, among the 1 key lakes (reservoirs) monitored, the number of lakes and reservoirs with excellent water quality (Class I.-III.) accounted for 3.195%, an increase of 81.0 percentage points year-on-year; the number of lakes and reservoirs with poor Class V water quality accounted for 2.9%, down 4.6 percentage points year-on-year. The main pollution indicators are total phosphorus, chemical oxygen demand and permanganate index. Among the 0 lakes (reservoirs) monitoring nutrient status, 1 were moderately eutrophied, accounting for 186.4%; 2 were mildly eutrophious, accounting for 2.34%; The remaining lakes (reservoirs) are moderately or poor-trophic status. Among them, Taihu Lake is mildly polluted and slightly nutrient-rich, and the main pollution index is total phosphorus; Chao Lake has good water quality and is mildly nutritious; Dianchi Lake is mildly polluted and slightly nutrient-rich, and the main pollution index is chemical oxygen demand; The quality of Erhai water is excellent and medium nutrition; The water quality of Danjiangkou Reservoir is excellent and poor nutrition; Baiyangdian water quality is good and medium nutrition.
