According to reports, since 2019, 10 provinces including Beijing have launched the evaluation of popular science titles. With the support of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the China Association for Science and Technology has set up a demonstration to carry out the evaluation of professional titles for popular science, which is conducive to further expanding the team of professional talents for popular science and improving the quality of popular science talents.
According to the notice, the review will set up a series of scientific popularization professional titles, deputy senior titles and intermediate professional titles, and the professional directions include popular science research, popular science content resource creation and dissemination. The declaration is made for those who are engaged in science popularization full-time and part-time in the central and state organs, ministries and commissions and people's organizations in Beijing, central enterprises and their affiliated units in Beijing, national societies, associations and research societies affiliated to the China Association for Science and Technology, and units directly under the China Association for Science and Technology.
From the perspective of performance conditions of evaluation standards, the direction of popular science research mainly puts forward requirements for popular science research topics (projects); The direction of popular science content resource creation and dissemination takes popular science works as an important basis, and puts forward requirements for editing popular science books, creating popular science teaching materials, teaching plans, videos, scripts, and explanatory scripts, planning popular science exhibitions and activities, developing popular science exhibits, and operating and maintaining popular science information resource platforms.
"The evaluation of professional titles of natural science research series focuses on innovative methods and classification evaluation, which is more in line with the reality of popular science work and more targeted, which is of great significance for breaking the 'four only' and stimulating the potential of talents."
