In March, the Moderates and the Christian Democrats left the government in Hässleholm after demanding that the chairman of the municipal executive board Hanna Nilsson (SD) resign from her post. The Sweden Democrats chose to keep her and now announce that they continue to govern in a minority.
In a press release, the Sweden Democrats write that they have the conditions to govern further in a minority.
Crashed talks with the Social Democrats
The Moderates have held talks with, among others, the Social Democrats to ensure that they can replace the SD as a new government, but they have not yet succeeded.
"We have had talks with all the other parties. It has been difficult to achieve this, says Lina Bengtsson (M).
According to Lina Bengtsson, the Social Democrats have wanted things that the Moderates did not want to agree to.
"We can't change the governance in Hässleholm municipality alone. It requires everyone to have that will. We have said that we will not be part of majority rule as long as Hanna Nilsson remains. We can cooperate on issues, but not in a majority," she says.
Statements and dispute with the Viking village
The reason why the rule broke down was the dispute with Vittfarna's Viking village, where the owner Oddvar Lönnerkrantz said that Hanna Nilsson tried to hire him as a torpedo, something Hanna Nilsson rejected. In turn, she has reported Oddvar Lönnerkrantz to the police for extortion.
In audio recordings shared by the Viking village, Hanna Nilsson slanders politicians and officials and says, among other things, that Hässleholm municipality lied to the courts about matters concerning the Viking village.
Lina Bengtsson (M) believes that they and KD cannot do much about the situation at present.
"We have to deal with this. I can't control how SD chooses to do it.
