• Events A device of 150 civil guards and police evict without incident the building occupied by criminals in Majadahonda

The detainees in the eviction this morning in a luxury building squatted in Majadahonda add up to more than 100 antecedents, according to sources of the Civil Guard. These are dangerous Maghrebi criminals with arrests for robbery with violence, with force, disobedience, resistance, drug trafficking, burglaries, injuries and sexist violence. Several of them have firm sentences of up to five years in prison. Precisely the dangerousness of these squatters is one of the main arguments for the head of court number 3 of Majadahonda to order in a record time of two days the eviction and judicial launch of the building completed last year and usurped a few days later by these problematic individuals. The eviction was carried out early on Sunday peacefully after the intervention of 120 agents of the Civil Guard and 30 of the Local Police.

Last Wednesday the company Desokupa was hired by the owner of the building after denouncing the case in court days before. The members of Desokupa were attacked and injured in the attempt to recover the property. The usurpers threw stones, cobblestones, tiles and even a television set at them. They were armed with knives with which they threatened the Desokupa workers. One of them was stabbed in the finger.

As a result of these events, on Wednesday the lawyer of Desokupa, Jorge Marín, presented a brief in the court of guard requesting the eviction of the building for the contest of crimes suffered and for the constant misdeeds committed by the squatters. In addition, the lawyer provided complaints, reports from the Civil Guard and video reports and photographs of the facts denounced, also adding the crime of electrical fraud that carried the risk of an imminent fire in the building.

Judge Silvia García-Cuerva, present at the eviction since 06.00 in the morning, authorized in less than 48 hours the eviction of the building as a "precautionary measure or unheard-of part". A decision that he adopted in "attention to the concurrence of circumstances of special urgency or emergency that occurred because of the squatters of the building". To all this it was necessary to add that criminal proceedings were underway for alleged crimes of falsification of documents and usurpation in the building.

The block with 11 floors and two penthouses was completed last year and because of a problem with the registration of the property, the houses could not be put on the market. The owner hired a concierge to watch over the house and he sold them.

In less than a month all the houses were squatted by conflictive people and who were behind numerous robberies committed in the municipality of Majadahonda itself. These squatters began to break the coexistence of the area and generate a problem of insecurity.

The judge points out in the eviction order that the measure aims to "prevent the illicit effects derived from the action from being prolonged in time as a result of the permanent nature of the crime, the progressive deterioration of the building as a result of the use that the illegal occupants make, since, assuming that the ownership of the building is duly proven, It is evident that it is of new construction in which damages are appreciated by the alleged manipulation of the electrical installation, document nº 3 of the complaint, in which the corresponding technician informs that the wiring connection is in poor condition and that an overheating of the deficient connections may occur. The magistrate underlines the dangerous behavior of the squatters that "has triggered in the criminal types investigated of threats and injuries with a knife, accompanied by other excessively violent dynamics."

The judge also indicates in the order that "the social services of the City Council of Majadahonda must necessarily adopt prior to the eviction, the appropriate measures of the families with children of the building for the protection of vulnerable people, providing where appropriate residential solutions. " The judge adds in the order that "the social services of the City Council of Majadahonda must adopt, necessarily prior to the eviction, the appropriate measures of the families with children of the building for the protection of vulnerable people, providing in their case the residential solutions that proceed". Two of the flats were occupied by families with minors who yesterday received attention from the emergency social services of the Community of Madrid and the City Council of Majadahonda.

Last Friday the social services of the City of Majadahonda met with both squatter families, neither of them registered in the municipality. They indicated that they had income to pay rent and would leave the area after the eviction.

Once the eviction has occurred, the owner of the building has entered it with the members of Desokupa who will be responsible for its custody 24 hours a day until they are sold. "We are going to enter the block, fix it and as soon as we can sell the houses," said Carlos, the businessman of the promoter Inversión de Majadahonda.
