• Andalusia will raise a formal complaint through the Forta for the parody of TV3 to the Virgen del Rocío
  • Television Judit, the Virgen del Rocío of TV3: "I'm stuck in a bunker waiting for it to happen"

The controversy over the parody of the Virgen del Rocío broadcast on the Catalan regional channel TV3 has reached the Andalusian Parliament on Thursday, where the Minister of the Presidency, Antonio Sanz, has described as "outrageous" a sketch that "crosses any limit of humor".

As EL MUNDO has been reporting, a few days ago, coinciding with Easter, the space 'Està passant' of the public channel TV3 took out an actress dressed as the Virgen del Rocío with a doll in her hands that pretended to be the baby Jesus and was interviewed by the presenters Toni Soler and Jair Domínguez. During the program, the 'Virgin' complained about her bulky costume and when the presenters told her that their devotees want her dressed like this she sent them "to take for ass".

At one point in the interview, the actress dressed as 'Virgin' said that "I have not been able to throw a dust as God commands for 200 years!", due to the fact of having to take off her clothes and then added that she was "hotter than the stick of a churrero", while flirting with the presenters. The actress imitated the Andalusian accent and the presenters made jokes about her way of speaking, in addition to ironizing that the Virgen del Rocío does not go out in procession at Easter.

During the session of the control to the Government in the Andalusian Parliament, the counselor Antonio Sanz has affirmed that the parody is "outrageous" and "a lack of absolute respect for Andalusia, its customs and traditions" and has described it as "error" because "in Catalonia there is a great devotion to the Virgen del Rocío".

For the counselor of the Presidency, the television parody is an "attack" on Andalusia and, in addition, it is not "a punctual event". Therefore, he has spoiled the Socialist Group in the Andalusian Parliament for its "silence" on this matter and has asked him "not to bother them to defend their land."

Antonio Sanz has responded in this way to a question posed by the popular Huelva parliamentarian Manuel González Rivera, who has pointed out that "humor is a symptom of intelligence", but "there has to be respect and grace". And this "one of Lepe tells him", the deputy has apostilled, referring to his people, cradle of countless jokes.

With the parody broadcast on TV3 "disrespect has been disrespected to Andalusia and millions of devotees rocieros", added the deputy, who can not "imagine Canal Sur offending Catalonia" with a parody of this style.

As Antonio Sanz announced this Sunday, Andalusia will raise a formal complaint, through the Radio Television of Andalusia (RTVA), to the Federation of Autonomous Radio and Television Organizations (Forta) for the images broadcast by the satirical program 'Està passant'. The complaint will be processed this Thursday, according to the counselor.
