Vague explanations, fabrications, as well as us denial of the listed facts about the undermining of Nord Streams confirm the version of the American journalist Seymour Hersh about Washington's involvement in this incident. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova during a briefing.

"The attempts of the American side to get away with vigorous denial of the voiced facts, throwing through the media various kinds of fabrications and indigestible versions such as "the involvement of private companies", the involvement of some people in Kiev, in Warsaw, coupled with vague explanations of American satellites, in fact, confirm Hersch's version," she said.

Zakharova also recalled that on March 27, at a meeting of the UN Security Council, Western countries refused to adopt the Russian-Chinese resolution on Nord Streams. This, according to the diplomat, increased suspicions of the involvement of the US authorities in the terrorist attack.

"We are convinced that if the American administration had been interested in establishing the truth and punishing the guilty, they would have acted differently. The United States has examples of such actions. True, then they were not under suspicion. They accused others and ran around international organizations, wanting to start some kind of investigation, even if the mandate of this organization contradicted their aspirations," Zakharova said.

According to the diplomat, many Western states, including Denmark, Sweden and Germany, do not want to name the true culprit of the crime, since this is fraught with undermining the "cohesion" of the entire modern transatlantic world.

"The Council of Europe has never been concerned with the register of damage from the undermining of Nord Streams, despite the fact that the damage was caused to investors, builders, those who pumped natural resources there and who built civil infrastructure in various countries to maintain and implement this project. Should I talk about the environment? It is also on the agenda of the Council of Europe. Where is the Damage Registry? It's not there and it won't be. Why? Apparently, they guess that during the investigation they can reach themselves, "Zakharova emphasized.

The diplomat said that Russia insists on conducting a "comprehensive and open international investigation" with the mandatory participation of Russian experts.

"We proceed from the fact that all those involved in the explosions on the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines will be identified, and the details of this crime will be disclosed. Russia will do everything possible to prevent the "collective West" from drowning out this topic, "the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized.

On the same day, the press service of the Russian Embassy in Sweden published a statement by the diplomatic department, in which it asked why the results of the investigation of sabotage over the past six months were not provided to the world community.

"In this regard, we have three simple questions. What have Swedish investigators been doing for the past six months? And why are the results of their work (if any) stubbornly hidden not only from Russia, but also, it seems, from the whole world? Or perhaps this carefully hides the work coordinated with the Danes, Germans and other interested Westerners to conceal evidence?" the embassy asked.

The diplomatic mission recalled that the Russian side has repeatedly appealed to the Swedish authorities with a request to provide legal assistance and create a joint investigation team, as well as provide access to the investigation materials. However, according to the statement, Sweden refused to share information, hiding behind national security concerns.

In turn, Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergey Nechaev said that there was no progress in the issue of admission of Russian specialists to establish the circumstances of the explosions on Nord Streams.

"The admission of Russian specialists to establish the circumstances of the incident was and remains our fundamental requirement, taking into account the fact that they have all the specific knowledge and necessary qualifications. However, there is no progress in this matter, "Nechaev said in an interview with Izvestia.

Main version

Recall, on April 7, the Swedish prosecutor's office said that the perpetrators of the terrorist attack on Nord Streams are still unknown and it will be difficult to find them. As the Swedish regional prosecutor Mats Lyngvist emphasized, Stockholm continues "a number of specific investigative measures", which, according to him, the Swedish law enforcement officers carry out "carefully and leave nothing to chance." At the same time, Lyngvist called the case difficult to study. The prosecutor also noted that the incident was the reason for various speculations and assumptions, which, however, according to him, do not affect the course of the case.

However, he later admitted that the main version of the investigation is that a certain "state entity" is behind the pipeline explosions.

After that, American journalist Seymour Hersh said that the United States intended to blackmail Russia with the bombing of Nord Streams in order to force the Russian side not to launch a special operation in Ukraine.

"The idea was to say (to Russian President Vladimir. — RT) To Putin: we will blow up pipelines if you step over the border of Ukraine," Hersch told the German publication Tichys Einblick.

The journalist argues that Biden's motive for undermining the gas pipelines could be his concern that Germany and Western Europe would not support Ukraine.

"The only argument that I think makes sense is that last summer he (Biden. — RT) he was really serious about whether he could count on the support of Germany and Western Europe. At the moment, the United States has spent on this war (in Ukraine. — RT) $120 billion To finish it, it will take a lot of money. And believe me, three or four months ago, the level of public support for this war in the United States was high. After that, the results began to decline, because more and more people are wondering: "Why are we giving away so much money?" said Hersh.

According to him, because of the situation with the explosions of gas pipelines, Biden has a good chance to get into the list of "the stupidest US presidents" since the end of the world war.

"To undermine the gas supply of the ally, because of which the German Federal Chancellor (Germany. — RT) now the problems with providing their citizens with well-being and warm housing are not a smart act," the journalist said.

In his opinion, when it gets colder again in the autumn, and gas prices do not decrease, "many will be very dissatisfied with the person because of whom this crisis arose, that is, Joe Biden." As Hersh noted, damage to pipelines will directly affect the residents of Germany.

"I don't know what's going to happen to Scholz. I really don't know... Germany has huge problems today because it has less gas than it used to. I don't think the government is in a position to pay another such amount of subsidies. So he (Scholz. — RT) it remains only to pray for another warm winter, "said Hersh.

Classical negation

As the director of the Institute for Strategic Studies and Forecasts of the RUDN University Dmitry Egorchenkov noted in a conversation with RT, the United States in every possible way prevents the organization of an independent international investigation that can finally confirm the involvement of the American side in the terrorist attack.

"Based on the statements of American and European politicians, including opposition ones, and the Hersh investigation, it can be concluded that the United States played a major and significant role in organizing the explosions on Nord Stream. Certain American government agencies definitely participated in this, "the expert explained.

At the same time, Yegorchenkov noted that as a result of the pipeline explosion, Europe lost "the most important tool for ensuring its own sovereignty" – energy security.

"The EU, left without Russian gas, has lost the last reliable, affordable and, most importantly, predictable source of energy supply. When Russian gas was in Europe, it could ensure energy security by diversifying its sources. Now that one of the largest suppliers of hydrocarbons is no longer there, the EU has become completely dependent on the United States, "the analyst explained.

Yegorchenkov considers it obvious that the United States was the main beneficiary in the situation with the explosion of pipelines.

"The classic reaction is denial. The U.S. denies anything it can deny under the circumstances. The Americans play this game well - they throw compromising information in the media, and also pretend that nothing happened to the gas pipelines, "the expert said.

In turn, the head of the Center for Military-Political Studies of the Institute of the USA and Canada of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Vladimir Batyuk, argues that only the United States and its allies can be involved in the undermining of Nord Streams, since there are no other interested parties in this.

"To conduct such operations, it is necessary to use the special forces of the Navy, combat swimmers, and appropriate equipment. Literally several countries in the world have the capabilities to carry out such a diversion: these are the United States, Great Britain, Russia, possibly France, as well as China. The Russian Federation does not need to undermine its pipelines, it is enough to block the valve. Beijing doesn't need it either. Only the United States and its allies remain, "the analyst explained in an interview with RT.

According to him, the Biden administration and the media loyal to the American president are making "clumsy attempts" to justify the US authorities in the situation with Nord Streams.

"The explanations of the representatives of the White House itself also look strange and ridiculous. The reaction of Washington and its allies is puzzling not only for Russia, but also among its closest allies. But the genie is out of the bottle, and simple silence or inappropriate denial here will do the Biden administration much more harm than good, "the expert concluded.
