Maintain a relationship with the same man and plan to get pregnant at the same time

Fame did not come until 2016, when Warner and Mediaset summoned them to a casting. "We didn't know exactly what we were applying for. And, when we were elected, we said, 'What is this really about?' because no one knew." However, that audition changed their lives and, since then, there is no one who does not recognize them as the favorite waitresses of First Dates. The dating show, presented by Carlos Sobera who, this April, celebrates seven years on screen.

"

First Dates has been a dream and we are glad that they have trusted us for this wonderful project, which has to do with love. It is very rewarding and we love to hear what the audience wants to tell us... That they are just nice things. When we are stopped, everyone is very nice. There is no one who tells us 'very badly what you do'. Everyone says 'what a good vibe you give'", Marisa and Cristina explain to LOC, who know there are few who can differentiate them.

"We don't use anything distinctive to get people to identify us. If they get confused, they get confused... And, on occasion, we have used it to our advantage, of course!", they say, laughing. The sisters have impersonated each other in countless circumstances. Even loving. "We have never shared a boyfriend. But if one has gone on a date for the other.... Or one has been with one and, when it is over, the other has liked it, "they reveal, although they assure that they do not share tastes in men.

"We don't agree on that kind of thing. One likes details that the other has never caught her attention. On some occasions we have even said to each other 'I can't stand your boyfriend'. In fact, once one dated one and the other was like 'I can't stand it'. Anyway, we are not too overprotective. Because, in the end, the decision is in the other. But we do give each other advice. If there's someone we don't see, we say, 'This one I don't think so,'" they say.

According to her words, a glance is enough for each one to understand what her sister means. Although it is not like they have an inexplicable and indivisible mental bond. "It's not telepathy. But there is a connection. For example, one day one says 'I feel like eating baked chicken' and the other says 'I was thinking the same thing, what a coincidence'. Or we are in different cities, we meet in one, we arrive dressed the same and we say 'what is this?'"

Despite this, both want to make it clear that, although they are twins, "they are not Siamese" and that they are capable of making individual decisions. "If one is chosen for a job and the other is not... No problem! It has always been talked about: it is better that one works than that none works! Moreover, if one succeeds, the other triumphs. There's no jealousy thing, no rivalry," they say. Nonetheless, they both enjoy working side by side. Above all, in his new project.

"In a science fiction comedy and that, in theater, is not seen too much, because it is very difficult to do things with special effects. And it's going to be really cool. It is our first production, together with a Galician company, and we hope it works. Because it is a risk and a new adventure, "they reveal. They also state that they would love to do something related to "their own story" and that they are interested in creating their own foundation to support people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). A disease with which they have been diagnosed.

"Years ago, I got a big blow and I didn't want anyone to know, because it was a very big tragedy and, besides, it was like 'what are they going to think of me in such a small town?', 'Will they kick me out of my job?', 'Will they think I'm not qualified?', all those doubts. It's that OCD is doubt. But I also thought that if I ever got out of there, I wanted to help others get out of that hell. That's why we talked about this issue, to try to help people," says Marisa.

"What we want is to give visibility. Many times people don't know what OCD is. They think it's being orderly... And it's much more! To say that having OCD is having hobbies is to simplify it. And we should not be ashamed to say what happens to us, they are diseases. People stigmatize these mental illnesses, they say 'she's crazy!' ... But, fortunately, there are more and more people who open up in that sense, "says Cristina, and then talk about the greatest of her intentions.

"What we want is to spread information, so that people know where to ask for help. The problem with OCD is that you don't know where to go or what the treatment is. In Spain, we are 600,000 affected who do not have any specialized site, no public center, "they explain in unison. However, the Zapatas – who continue in therapy – are hopeful that the future will be different. "We're going to keep working for this. In fact, we already collaborate with TOC Granada and Mérida... And we hope to be able to throw a cable to everyone who needs it, "they conclude.
