Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed Al Jaber said that his visit to Sanaa, during which he will meet with Ansar Allah leaders of the Houthis, aims to stabilize the truce and ceasefire, support the prisoner exchange process and discuss ways of dialogue between Yemeni components to reach a comprehensive and sustainable political solution in Yemen.

The Saudi ambassador added in tweets that this comes as a continuation of Saudi Arabia's efforts to end the Yemeni crisis, and in support of the initiative presented by the Kingdom in 2021.

"The Kingdom's government and people have stood for decades with our brothers in Yemen in the darkest circumstances and political and economic crises, and brotherly efforts have been ongoing since 2011 to achieve the aspirations of the brotherly people of Yemen for the return of security, stability and economic prosperity," Al Jaber said.

Al-Jaber is heading a Saudi delegation currently visiting Sanaa for talks with the Houthi leadership on renewing a broad truce agreement and starting discussions to reach peace in Yemen.

The Houthi-run Saba news agency reported that the Saudi and Omani delegations arrived in the Yemeni capital Sanaa late on Saturday, where they met with the head of the political bureau of the Ansar Allah Houthi group, Mahdi Mohammed Al-Mashat, at the presidential palace in Sanaa.

The agency quoted Al-Mashat as grateful for the mediation efforts carried out by the Sultanate of Oman to bring views closer and achieve peace, and quoted the head of the Saudi delegation as appreciating the role of the Sultanate of Oman and its keenness to support peace and stability in Yemen.
