Taipei, 4 Apr (Xinhua) -- Tsai Ing-wen, leader of China's Taiwan region, traveled to the United States on 8 April in the name of "transit" and met with US House Speaker McCarthy before returning to Taiwan on the evening of 6 April. On the same night, dozens of political parties and organizations on the island held a joint anti-"Taiwan independence" and anti-access action at Taoyuan Airport, strongly condemning the DPP authorities' new provocative act of promoting collusion between Taiwan and the United States and "relying on the United States to seek independence," and harming Taiwan for the sake of one-party political self-interest.

At the protest site at the airport, nearly 300 representatives from all walks of life on the island held up slogans and shouted slogans such as "Oppose 'Taiwan independence,' save Taiwan," "Mai Tsai Hui, sell Taiwan Society," "Rely on the United States to seek independence, hollow out Taiwan," "Love My China, Down with 'Taiwan Independence,'" and other slogans, strongly condemning Tsai Ing-wen's provocative acts.

Wu Rongyuan, convener of the Cross-Strait Forum for Peaceful Development and chairman of the Workers' Party, said that the root cause of the dangerous situation in the Taiwan Strait lies in the collusion between the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces and the United States. The United States regards Taiwan as a pawn, and Tsai Ing-wen and the DPP authorities are following a path of "selling Taiwan," and the Taiwan people will not agree to this. "The meeting between Tsai Ing-wen and McCarthy has brought a greater threat to cross-strait peace, tying Taiwan to the US chariot, and we must voice our anger."

Wang Zheng, chairman of Taiwan's Chinese Youth Development Federation, said in an interview with a Xinhua reporter that the DPP authorities have seriously undermined the one-China principle in recent years and have not recognized the "consensus of '92," which has led to a major retrogression in cross-strait relations, and many young people in Taiwan have lost the opportunity to develop in the process of cross-strait integration and development. "We solemnly call on Tsai Ing-wen and the DPP authorities to restrain themselves from the precipice and never betray Taiwan to the United States."

Zhuang Junsheng, a youth member of the China Unification Promotion Party, pointed out that what Tsai Ing-wen is doing is essentially using her position as a leader to pursue her own interests, with no regard for the well-being of ordinary Taiwan. The future of the Taiwan people depends on the great cause of peaceful reunification across the strait, and cannot be manipulated by the United States.

Regarding Tsai Ing-wen's visit to the United States and meeting with McCarthy, the joint anti-"Taiwan independence" and anti-access action issued a written statement on the 6th, pointing out that this act seriously undermines the one-China principle, deliberately provokes Chinese mainland, and escalates the crisis in the Taiwan Strait. In order to cooperate with the "Taiwan destruction plan" used by US politicians to consume the mainland, the DPP authorities did not hesitate to become pawns in the US proxy war, dragging Taiwan into the war and completely betraying the life and safety of the Taiwan people. The "Cai Mai Hui" luring wolves into the house is precisely the fundamental source of chaos that triggered the new Taiwan Strait crisis.

The joint action statement emphasizes that the fact that both sides of the strait belong to one China is both an objectively existing historical fact and an internationally recognized legal fact. The one-China principle is not only the foundation for the peaceful development of cross-strait relations, but also the cornerstone for the stability and long-term development of Sino-US relations. The Taiwan issue is an internal affair of cross-strait Chinese, and Chinese own affairs should be resolved by the families on both sides of the strait themselves. Tsai Ing-wen's attempt to internationalize the Taiwan issue by sneaking into the United States is absolutely impossible, completely meaningless, and draining the people's fate.

The joint action statement calls on the Taiwan people to save peace and stop war only by holding high the banner of "peaceful reunification and saving Taiwan," adhering to the position that both sides of the strait belong to one China, strengthening their will to defend the safety of people's lives and property, refusing to be a pawn of the US war machine, and giving the harshest resistance and the most painful blow to Tsai Ing-wen and the DPP authorities!

In the past few days, the island's media and experts have continued to criticize Tsai Ing-wen's botched performance. "China Times" published an editorial on the 6th pointed out that in response to the DPP's short-term operation, the US government has a high sense of crisis, accurately grasps the situation, actively carries out risk management and control, and keeps a low profile and low-key on Tsai Ing-wen's "transit" and "Tsai Maihui", reiterates that it is private and unofficial in nature, and even reiterates that it does not support "Taiwan independence." In this environment, the DPP's so-called "diplomatic breakthrough" bubble has quickly burst.

Lu Zhixiang, a veteran media person in Taiwan, wrote an article pointing out that in international realpolitik, Taiwan's situation is full of thorns, Tsai Ing-wen has already paid the price of "severing diplomatic relations" with Honduras before her trip, and the major "diplomatic breakthrough" of self-congratulation only has a great internal propaganda effect and will not help improve Taiwan's foreign relations.

Lai Yueqian, a commentator on Taiwan's current affairs, told reporters that all the DPP's "international activities" are just to promote "Taiwan independence," and the only thing they can rely on is the United States, even if it will cause tension in cross-strait relations and eventually a military conflict, the DPP does not care. The island is now short of eggs, water, and electricity, and before that, there was a shortage of vaccines, masks, and quick screenings, and the DPP did not care about the Taiwanese people, they only thought from the interests of political parties and personal interests.
