This Thursday, April 6, marks the eleventh day of mobilization against the pension reform. The day before, the leaders of the inter-union met Elisabeth Borne, but the meeting ended in a status quo. The government is inflexible and for the unions, the challenge now is to hold at least until April 14, date of the decision of the Constitutional Council.

The protest movement against the pension reform showed the first signs of running out of steam on March 28, during the last day of mobilization. The unions hope for a larger number of demonstrators on this new day, this Thursday, April 6, to show that the time is not for resignation. Then, it will be necessary to wait for the decision of the Constitutional Council, praying that the Sages censor the entire text.

"The French will never accept this reform"

Otherwise, "it is necessary at least that the referendum of shared initiative is validated, otherwise it is the disaster, people will no longer believe it," says the boss of a central. Not necessarily the opinion of another union leader: "The text is validated? So what? We continue, the French will never accept this reform."

Once past the stage of the Sages, Emmanuel Macron says he is ready to receive the union leaders. "When the president invites you, you go. But be careful, we are not here to serve its communication, "replies one of the union leaders. Another reason for hope is the memory of the First Job Contract. In 2006, Jacques Chirac had promulgated the CPE, after the green light of the Sages, but the mobilization had continued and the president had withdrawn the text. "Anything is possible," concludes a union leader.
