Instead of closing down the evening pub and the premises at the student union building, a bunch of MDU students are fighting to keep them. And there are already ideas on how to do it.

– One suggestion is to have the evening pub open only on Wednesdays because there is most student pressure then, says Emil Öhman, who studies at MDU.

More types of arrangements are being proposed, but it will not be enough to get the economy back on an even keel, says Theodor Hellgren, who believes that it all depends on financial support.

– We hope to receive grants from both the City of Västerås and the university and talk to the foundation that owns the student union building to try to do something about this.
