On October 28, 2022, the Meshchansky Court of Moscow authorized the arrest in absentia of the son of the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Artem Uss in the case of money laundering on a particularly large scale.
Before that, on October 19, the US Department of Justice reported the detention of Uss in Italy at the request of the US authorities.
On March 21, 2023, a court in Italy approved the extradition of Uss to the United States, but on March 23, the Italian newspaper ANSA reported that the man left his place of residence in Milan, and the electronic bracelet that was worn on Uss was broken. Corriere della Sera wrote that Uss escaped from custody in Italy with the help of accomplices.
On April 4, the man reported that he had escaped and was in Russia.
Uss voluntarily came to the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow, where he changed the measure of restraint from arrest in absentia to a recognizance not to leave.
