Israel's ambulance service said two Israelis were wounded on Tuesday in a stabbing attack in Rishon Lezion, south of Tel Aviv.

The Israeli media reported that two soldiers were wounded in the stabbing attack.

Al Jazeera correspondent Elias Karam quoted the Israeli ambulance as saying that one of the soldiers was very seriously injured, noting that the injured were taken to a hospital east of Tel Aviv.

The correspondent also quoted the Israeli police as saying that Israelis at the scene of the attack were able to arrest the perpetrator, after which the Israeli police transferred him to one of its centers for interrogation.

Hebrew websites published a video showing the arrest of the alleged perpetrator of the attack, which took place at the Sarafand junction in Prishon Lezion. The Israel Broadcasting Corporation had earlier reported that the perpetrator of the stabbing had been killed.

Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that the attack occurred in a central area, especially for Israelis moving north to Tel Aviv or south to Ashdod and Ashkelon.

The area is also a central stop for soldiers who move to bases in the coast and south, he said.

The new operation in Tel Aviv comes at a time when the West Bank is witnessing an ongoing Israeli escalation, particularly through military operations targeting Palestinian resistance.

In recent weeks, many Israelis have been killed and injured in Palestinian operations in occupied Jerusalem and the West Bank.

Injuries and confrontations

In the field developments in the West Bank, a number of Palestinians were injured at dawn on Tuesday during clashes with the Israeli occupation forces in the village of Kafr Ni'ma, west of Ramallah.

Last night, Israeli occupying forces arrested 14 Palestinians, including two women, during raids in the West Bank.

The prisoners' organizations reported that the Israeli occupation forces arrested 7 Palestinians, including a woman, during their raid into Dheisheh refugee camp in Bethlehem.

During the raid, clashes erupted between the occupying forces and Palestinian youths, resulting in at least one young man being shot in the chest and taken to hospital for treatment.

The Israeli occupation forces also raided Khallet Al-Amud neighborhood in the northern West Bank city of Nablus and arrested the liberated prisoner Mu'tasim Al-Nabulsi.

The "Lions Den" group said it clashed with the occupation forces with bullets and homemade bombs during its withdrawal from the city.

The Israeli occupation forces raided the town of Beita, south of Nablus, and confiscated the recordings of surveillance cameras, which included clashes with the town's residents.

On Monday, two young men were killed by the Israeli occupation forces during their incursion into Al-Makhfa'a neighborhood in Nablus, and eyewitnesses said that the raid was quick, during which armed clashes took place with Palestinian resistance.

The Israeli military said its forces carried out a security operation in the city to arrest wanted men in connection with the Huwara attack, which a week ago wounded three Israeli soldiers.
