Al-Jazeera correspondent said that the Israeli occupation forces tried tonight to forcibly remove protesters from inside the tribal prayer hall in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The correspondent added in a breaking news at midnight Tuesday to Wednesday that the occupation police fired sound bombs inside the tribal mosque through the windows after smashing a number of them, and the occupation forces stormed the medical clinic adjacent to the tribal mosque in Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Earlier on Tuesday, a Palestinian child was shot by Israeli forces in the East Jerusalem town of Silwan before being arrested.

The Anadolu news agency quoted Israel's state broadcaster as saying that what it described as suspects threw rocks and Molotov cocktails at a police car in East Jerusalem, adding that a 15-year-old Palestinian boy from the town of Silwan had been arrested, without mentioning his injury.

For its part, Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper said that the injured child was arrested and taken for medical treatment and is in stable condition, without giving further details about his condition.

Tensions

This came in conjunction with increasing tensions on the Temple Mount, where hundreds of Jerusalemites have barricaded themselves inside the tribal prayer hall at Al-Aqsa Mosque, since Tuesday evening.

Earlier on Tuesday, Hamas and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine warned that the escalation at Al-Aqsa Mosque and the slaughter of offerings during Passover would lead to an explosion of the situation.

Passover begins at sunset on Wednesday, April 5, and runs until April 12.

According to Anadolu Agency, East Jerusalem and its suburbs have been witnessing increased tension since the formation of the new Israeli government headed by Benjamin Netanyahu late last year, which Hebrew media describes as the most extreme in Israel's history.
